1 MYOB End of Year Seminar 2020

MEY20

Staying on top of legislation, financial workflows and best use of your MYOB software is becoming ever more important with the legislative changes and flow on impact from the global pandemic. Software updates continue to be released to address new reporting requirements, STP is in its first year of finalisation (for some) and MYOB is getting a refresh of key EOY functions including payroll!

These important update sessions provide information on not only key changes, but a ‘refresh’ on end of financial and payroll year processes, along with critical reporting and employer obligations outlined by the Australian Taxation Office. This event is more than just payroll, it is also an update on what is happening in the profession to ensure you keep up to date and maintain your CPD (continuing professional development) hours.

This year we are delivering our End of Year event as a Virtual Seminar to ensure we can continue to deliver lots of useful content, bring in subject matter experts online including specialist presenters, all from the convenience of your computer.

Select from one of two (half day) sessions, depending on where you are up to in your knowledge and experience in finance:
  • Thursday 18th June, 2020 – Best practice End of Financial Year and Payroll processes: ideal for those finalising STP (Single Touch Payroll) for the first year and keen to understand what is required to correctly and effectively complete for the financial and payroll year end processes, when and how to carry out these new and updated processes - plus understand the impact of STP & JobKeeper transactions in this process. Our highly experienced and knowledgeable speakers will provide an update on the software as well as key areas to make use of to ensure you get the most out of the software including insight to upcoming (and for some) significant changes to the product.
  • Tuesday 23rd June, 2020 - FAST TRACK EOY: perfect for those already reporting under STP, or have attended our previous EOY sessions and keen to refresh on this years payroll 'finalisation' process, especially with JobKeeper related transactions and recent changes in the software. Whilst this session will have an update on STP it will assume an understanding of the required reporting from attending previous events in order to refine this year’s EOY processes. Ensure you are making full use of the updated MYOB AR features including insight to upcoming (and for some) significant changes to the product. We know you love to ramp up your knowledge, so our guest HR/payroll specialist will present on ‘Tips and Traps in Employment Conditions’ including leave entitlement mistakes that are often overlooked.
BOTH sessions will cover the EOY processes, and include guest speakers on a range of bookkeeping and finance industry related topics.

As in past years, we again welcome our great line up of speakers:
  • Assistant Commissioner: Sonia Corsini, will present on 'Early release of Superannuation'
  • This year’s subject matter expert will present on ‘Tips and Traps in Employment conditions’ including Leave entitlement mistakes that are often overlooked
  • Along with an update on the stimulus package, the relationship between STP and JobKeeper reporting and impact on financial reporting at the end of year
  • Pam Chilman, Trainer, AMC Training Centre, Longstanding MYOB Certified Consultant to present on the important (and ever changing) software related features to compliment the content from the guest presenters.
Speaker bios available shortly or contact us if you would like more information – these are MUST attend sessions to ensure you are keeping up to date in payroll and your financial role.

Presenters will educate you on how legislative changes impact your role, step you through the fundamentals and provide you with the inside edge on all the critical issues, along with an update on your MYOB products new features and upcoming changes.

We will show you how to carry out the required EOY preparation tasks, including the annual reconciliation of payroll and updated ‘finalisation’ processes, especially in light of JobKeeper, plus much more as we present compliance changes that might have slipped past your radar.

Don't assume by using bank feeds, all financial aspects are taken care of. Unless your accountant is also working for you as your bookkeeper and payroll officer, you will be required to follow some defined end of year procedures before confirming your financial year is complete and ready for the tax work to be carried out. Learn how to carry out these steps with easy to understand information, or if already carrying out the EOY processes, attend the Fast Track date to keep up to date and refine this years processes to reflect the every changing product and be prepared for the stages of business during this year’s financial impact from the pandemic.

You will be provided with:
  • An understanding of new and updated legislation and the impact on your software
  • A clear understanding of the changes with year-end procedures, especially with STP
  • Tips for getting around including recent product updates
  • Automation tips in accounts and payroll workflows
  • Important but simple to read reference materials including End of Year Checklists
And more!
