Media Release 10 December 2009
Reckon names AMC as its first Canberra-area AP
The AMC Training Centre in the Canberra suburb of Phillip is Reckon’s newest Accredited Partner. It’s also the company’s first in the ACT.
Under the direction of Pam Chilman, AMC is a dedicated training business which has worked with more than 4000 clients. It offers a complete line up of accounting software, SMARTcourses, Microsoft and IT training, bookkeeping certificate and accounts courses, and QuickBooks software sales.
“I’m excited because we can now offer professional services and support to QuickBooks customers,” says Ms Chilman, noting Canberra has, by and large, not been well represented until today. “You really need somebody on the ground for help with QuickBooks.”
Founded in 1992, AMC has an expert team of trainers and consultants to help organisations get more out of their software while addressing any related software challenges. The company will take its award-winning training models and tailor them to QuickBooks in facilities that are ideal for in-house training.
The training courses are conducted on and off-site in group and one-on-one configurations in order to satisfy client preferences. While many opt for the traditional classroom-style arrangement, others prefer individualised learning which focuses on specific areas of need.
“AMC is a welcome addition to the Reckon family because it has a stellar reputation for excellence earned over years of dedicated service,” said Gavin Dixon, CEO of Reckon Limited’s Business Division. “The company’s success demonstrates the growing demand for QuickBooks training and support in our nation’s capital.”
AMC moved to its current location in Phillip, ACT in 2005 and boasts a professional suite of training facilities, including a Computer Hub room which accommodates 12 students, and a workshop-style room that holds 45 for presentations. Both are set up with the latest training tools, including data projectors, and the latest software to cater for the increasing popularity of AMC's services.
Ms Chilman, who is a qualified accountant, has worked with QuickBooks for many years as a Reckon Professional Partner and today completed the necessary certification required to become a Reckon Accredited Partner.
Reckon’s Accredited Partner network provides sales and support services to professionals who use, recommend, train and develop businesses using Reckon’s financial software applications. Membership includes software, training, technical support, the annual AP Conference, and more.
AMC is one of only a few training firms in the ACT that provides such comprehensive support to a client base that is split roughly 50-50 between public servants and SMEs/consultants. More and more of those clients are choosing to adopt QuickBooks and other Reckon products which made the decision to become an Accredited Partner, after years of contemplating the move, a justifiable one.
“I’m impressed with the extensive product range offered by Reckon with products for small businesses and for larger organisations with QuickBooks Enterprise,” Ms Chilman says. “[Plus] now having an online solution addressing the demand for those wanting to work remotely is extremely valuable.”
AMC will demonstrate the products and its services on 11 December at its headquarters – Level 1, 32-38 Townshend Street in Phillip, ACT. The event includes a range of QuickBooks-related topics and how to improve business practices. For more information, please ring 02 6285 4888 or visit www.ausmanagement.com.au
